Our Process

In challenging economic times, companies face intense pressure to reduce operating expenses. In addition, they often lack the purchasing clout or expertise to capture undiscovered cost savings in many of their indirect expenses, typically leaving 15-40% savings on the table. 

 

Using a proven process, CMS provides a fast, effective program to analyze and reduce indirect operating costs. We have the dedicated staff and expertise that does nothing but focus on improving our clients’ bottom line.

 

Our process is vendor agnostic and is an objective method to achieve the optimum combination of price and service. We work first and foremost with the incumbent vendors and offer alternatives only when so directed by our clients.  

Preliminary Savings Analysis

CMS conducts a no-cost, confidential review of your annual expenses. We categorize all of your indirect operating expenses and develop a realistic savings estimate that is based upon over 20 years of experience and history with clients in more than 25 different industries

Detailed Expense History Review

We collect and analyze detailed historical expense data from each of the suppliers in the scope. This includes a line item analysis and often requires us to conduct a manual review of past invoices. In addition to identifying areas for expense reduction, we identify your supplier service requirements and unique specifications, if any.

Vendor Negotiations

We enlist our team of expense analysts and Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) to lead a thorough vendor negotiation process on your behalf. CMS is uniquely qualified to leverage our considerable expense category expertise to maximize your savings in each of the expense categories that has been agreed to in the project's scope.

Implementation

Once the negotiations are complete, we present a set of detailed expense reduction recommendations, along with the actual annual savings, for your review. We only implement the expense reduction recommendations that are approved by the client.

Audit

Once the implementation is complete, CMS tracks and monitors supplier compliance to ensure that the negotiated savings are realized.  We report the realized savings to you on a bi-monthly basis, typically for a period of 24 months.
